Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA)
We live in a complex world, with presence of civil conflict and between nations, famine, vulnerable economies, inflation, unemployment, social inequality, insecurity in cities, constant natural disasters, in other words, a diversity of situations that lead to human suffering. To meet the consequent needs of these adversities the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) was established with the purpose of providing development to individuals, families and communities, and provide assistance in case of disasters.
The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) is the global humanitarian organization of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Through an international network, ADRA delivers relief and development assistance to individuals in more than 130 countries—regardless of their ethnicity, political affiliation, or religious association. By partnering with communities, organizations, and governments, ADRA is able to improve the quality of life of millions through 9 impact areas.
The basis for its existence is to follow the example of a life of service presented by Jesus Christ, that everywhere he went left a trail of healing, teaching, forgiveness, hope, salvation and love. And this is confirmed in His own words: “The Son of Man came not to be served but to serve …” (Mark 10:45).
